About Nutritionally Sound

Hi, I’m Bec. A Clinical Nutritionist and professional chef with over 20 years of experience working with food.

I created Nutritionally Sound to help people enjoy balanced, nourishing meals in a way that feels practical, realistic, and sustainable.

My Background

I started my career as a chef in 2006, beginning at Microsoft before moving into cafés, hotels, and fine dining restaurants.

During this time, I developed a strong interest in health and fitness, and became fascinated by the impact nutrition has on how we feel, function, and live day to day. Wanting to deepen my knowledge, I made the decision in 2017 to return to university and study a Bachelor of Health Science.

While completing my degree, I continued working as a chef, balancing both my passion for cooking and my growing interest in evidence-based nutrition. I graduated in 2021, combining over 20 years of hands-on culinary experience with formal nutrition training.

My passion for food and nutrition continued to grow, which led me to create Nutritionally Sound. A space where I can share practical nutrition knowledge alongside simple, enjoyable meals that people can realistically create and enjoy in everyday life.

My goal is to help make healthy eating feel approachable, satisfying, and sustainable, proving that nutritious food can also be simple and full of flavour.

Why I Do What I Do

I know first hand how overwhelming healthy eating can feel when life gets busy or confusing. My goal is to help people move away from strict diets and unrealistic expectations, and instead build simple, balanced habits that feel achievable long term.

By combining my background as a chef with evidence-based nutrition, I aim to show that healthy food doesn’t need to be bland, complicated, or restrictive. It can be practical, enjoyable, and full of flavour.
